Bangladesh’s leading IT firm, Orange Business Development Limited (Orangebd), has made significant strides in promoting e-governance in the Philippines. The company participated in the Digital Bangsamoro Summit held on Tuesday at the Shariff Kabunsuan Cultural Complex in the Bangsamoro region. The summit, aimed at fostering digital transformation, was inaugurated by the Minister of Local Government of the Philippines, the Chief Minister of the Bangsamoro region, and the Philippines head of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP).
A delegation from Orangebd, led by Director and Chief Information Officer Md. Shamim Hossain, represented Bangladesh at the event. In his keynote speech titled “Journey to the Digitisation and Service Delivery Ecosystem Blueprint,” Hossain highlighted the company’s innovative approach to digital transformation and its impact on public service delivery.
According to a press release issued on Thursday, Orangebd is currently working on digitising 14 citizen and business-related services across 20 municipalities in the Bangsamoro region. The initiative is set to expand gradually, targeting all 123 municipalities to ensure comprehensive digitalisation of public services.
Orangebd is also partnering with the National Economic and Development Authority (NEDA), an organisation under the Office of the President of the Philippines, to develop a program and project monitoring system. This system aims to enhance the government’s capacity to monitor donor-funded projects, analyse data effectively, and make data-driven decisions for improved efficiency and transparency.
The summit witnessed participation from representatives of international organisations, showcasing the importance of global collaboration in achieving e-governance goals. Orangebd’s contributions underline its commitment to leveraging technology for innovative governance solutions, reinforcing its position as a key player in global digital transformation initiatives.
